Apison Announcements! - Bulletin, Upcoming Events & Reminders

Weekend Update

Dear Church Family,
We are living in perilous times. The enemy of souls would like to make all our efforts have no effect, and without a revival, this is exactly what he is doing. What good is a worship service without worship flowing from a fully surrendered heart? What good is a school if we are not truly raising our children to seek God's highest ideal? What good are church meetings and committees and programs, unless they are infused with the Spirit of God?

  We have been told,
"Higher than the highest human thought can reach is God’s ideal for His children. Godliness—godlikeness—is the goal to be reached."
(Education, p.12)

Are we taking this seriously? Or are we settled in our traditions and routines? Are we striving to be more like Jesus? Or are we content with a culturally Laodicean Adventism?
We should be careful. In Israel's day, the Lord said,
“These people say they are Mine. They honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. And their worship of Me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote. Because of this, I will once again astound these hypocrites with amazing wonders. The wisdom of the wise will pass away, and the intelligence of the intelligent will disappear.” (Isaiah 29:13)
In Jesus' day, he warned,
"Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?" (Matthew 15:3)

Here is the only thing that I know to do. We need this right now. At this very moment. Here is what we need,
"The Lord says, now, therefore, turn to Me with all your heart,With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning. So rend your heart, and not your garments; return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and He relents from doing harm." (Joel 2:12-13)

The Apison Seventh-day Adventist Church is in need of this kind of revival. Please join me in seeking it.

I am encouraged by the small and faithful remnant which is being gathered each week for prayer meeting. [Insert Picture of Prayer Meeting] It is the highlight of my week. This Wednesday at 6:30pm we will consider Jonah chapter 3.
Tomorrow, it is my awesome privilege to launch 12 new preachers into the world. Don't miss this opportunity to hear kids ages 6-10 years old share the entire book of Daniel in one sermon.
May the Lord bless you,
Pastor Jason Vyhmeister
